This page includes incidents where GLBT businesses, events or gatherings were raided by police or other government authority.
Some of them were raided repeatedly. Most of them have one thing in common: the reasons they were raided, what was stated on the warrants allowing the police to search the premises, were reasons that would have allowed them to also raid mainstream (non-GLBT) businesses, events or gatherings, but that didn't happen.
For example, a gay bookstore that sold a certain magazine was raided, but mainstream bookstores that sold the same item were never raided.
So it's possible that there were legitimate legal reasons for these businesses to be raided, and their search warrants may have had valid legal reasons for doing so. But when GLBT businesses are raided, and others are not, that is a problem! They (the authorities) are simply disguising their homophobia.
